Time for the General June Update!
This year has been an absolute heck of thing. I’m still in the process of figuring out this whole website situation. And the writing thing. And the life thing, really.
Draft 2 of Faehunter has been completed, and now sits at around 70,000 words. I see a substantial rewrite of the central section in my future. But first I need to leave it to settle, kind of like dough.
Food Update
Speaking of dough, we recently baked our first homemade sourdough loaf, like half the world. It was delicious. The process of making a starter is quite interesting. I attempted this once before, in the middle of winter, which unsurprisingly proved too cold for my starter to flourish. But this one is bubbly and strong.
And speaking of fermentation, the first batch of mead is brewing along. I kept it simple, going with a basic honey mix so as to see how things develop. All going well I should have something drinkable in six weeks. Or it will explode and I’ll spend six weeks scrubbing sticky sugar-mix off the walls. Place your bets.
Writing
I have also returned to one of my old Works-In-Progress, tentatively titled Madame Cutpurse. (I mentioned this last month under a different title). As mentioned before, this one has been with me for many years now, and has taken many different shapes as I write and rewrite it.
This has become something of a pattern as I remind myself of old Works-In-Progress. I see that some of them could continue in their current form whereas others would need to be rewritten entirely. I’m hoping that’s a result of practice.
You can learn more about the ongoing works-in-progress HERE!
